Kinez Riza

I was part of an artist residency program hosted by The Farm Inc, New York. The program is called The Arctic Circle Org and takes place on the island of Svalvard/Spitsbergen. In late September to early October 2013, we embarked on an 18-day sojourn into the High Arctic onboard a Barquentine tall ship, making regular landings in the wilderness. We also visited Pyramiden – an abandoned Russian settlement – and the Svedrup Science Station in Ny Alesund where the North Polar Institutes are (Chinese, Korean, Indian, French, Norwegian). We used our time during the residency to produce work and collect research material.
